With winter slowly drawing to a close and the spring solstice around the corner, it’s that time of year when most of us start thinking about doing a little spring cleaning. To celebrate the imminent budding of the trees and a fresh seasonal start, we thought we’d share a few of our tried and trusted ways to shake off the cobwebs and put a spring back in your step and your skin, of course!

Eat for pleasure & vitality
Make the time to find a culinary lifestyle balance that works for you. This does not necessarily mean you have to give up lazy lunches on wine farms or forgo the freshly baked bread at that farmstall on your breakfast run, it just means you have to find the happy medium that allows you to tuck into all your favourites without feeling sluggish and dull. Load up on all sorts of fresh, colourful fruits and veggies, limit your intake of refined carbs and sugars, avoid foods that upset your system and – most of all – listen to your body.

Find an active pursuit you really enjoy
Let’s be honest, Cross Fit is not for everyone. Neither is trail running or downhill cycling. Newsflash: your active pursuit of choice does not have to be all that intense! Kudos if the hardcore approach works for you – you go on and feel the burn! But for those of us who get a little tight-chested at the thought of being chased around by a steely-eyed trainer, there are all sorts of other options to get our bums moving. Yoga, Pilates, 7-minute workouts (it’s a thing and you can download an app!), aqua-aerobics, surfing, adult ballet, Zumba, you name it. Take the time this year to try out a few new options and find the one that works best for you.

Spruce up your daily beauty regime
When you speak with people who enjoy healthy, glowing skin all year round, you will find that their approach to skincare is never static. After all, what worked in your 20s won’t necessarily bear fruit in your 40s or 50s. Our skin and its needs changes over time, and so should our approach to caring for it. This spring, make a point of taking a look at your daily beauty regime and determining whether it is still suitable for your needs at this point in time.

An area of your skincare regime that shouldn’t be overlooked as we head towards warmer weather (and thankfully, shorts, vests and sundresses) is overall body care. Our Nyasha Body Range tick the boxes for moisturising and caring for tired winter skin, and help to protect skin as we move into warmer weather. Your body will be oh so grateful for the TLC!
